Expedition India

India is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of wildlife, mainly because of her extraordinary diversity in natural geography. This is the land of great mountain ranges, lush forests, mighty rivers, vast plains and deserts. Remote mountains, montane forests, moist evergreen foothills, rainforests and dry scrub, deserts and mangrove swamps - all support an amazing variety of wildlife. India also offers the best hope of survival for some of the world’s potentially most endangered species – the Asiatic lion, the Bengal tiger, the Asian elephant and the great one-horned rhinoceros.  I plan to go to Bandhavgarh National Park,  Bharatpur National Park  Kaziranga National Park some of the best places to see wildlife in India where they still are protected.

The Maasai Mara shows up on almost any Kenya safari itinerary and for good reason. This northern extension of the Serengetti ecosystem is legendary for its prolific big game in an incomparably beautiful landscape. Photographers can spend weeks here without exhausting their material.

Churchhill, Canada  (Depart Late October/November)

Each year, in the fall, along the west shore of Canada’s Hudson Bay, one of the world’s most fascinating wildlife events occur. Scores of polar bears gather along the shore near Churchill, Manitoba waiting for the bay to freeze to begin the annual hunt for their choice prey, seals. If you have been fortunate enough to view one of the many television documentaries that feature these Lords of the Arctic, chances are, it was filmed in Churchill from one of the original Tundra Buggies.
