Hide and Seek

 Family: Cervidae, Moose

I had spotted the male earlier at Rocky Mountain
National Park.  I ventured in search of the female,
snapping a few shots of her, when she disappeared in
the thick underbrush. I turned around to find myself
face to face with her calf. We were equally surprised
to see each other. It was a startling, but precious
moment for me. As I knew her mom was nearby, I didnt
waste any time. A few quick clicks and I was out of
there.

Everyday Behaviour

I have always loved watching chipmunks. One afternoon, I set up my camera gear in a meadow at Rocky Mountain National Park. The chipmunks had made their home in a hollow log in the middle of a dandelion field. After chasing each other endlessly, one would disappear. This one, a little impatient peeked inside the log and whistled, as if to say. Are you coming out?

Ghost Rider

Coyotes range throughout North America, from northern Canada and Alaska, to Central America. They are found in vitrually all the contiguous 48 states and Alaska. They are abundant in Mexico and most countries in Central America, but do not extend to South America. Their range in North America was originally only in the West, but since the extermination of the red and grey wolves, their range has expanded farther eastward, taking over territory that was once occupied by the wolves, and in a sense filling in their niche.
